Dr. Maxwell attended high school in Portland, OR. She then acquired her BS in biology as well as her DVM from UC Davis. Following veterinary school graduation, she moved to the mid-west to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University. The program had a lengthy ophthalmology rotation which inspired her to pursue a residency in veterinary ophthalmology which she completed along with a masters degree at Kansas State University in 1991.
The pull of the PNW brought Dr. Maxwell back to Oregon in 1991 where she has practiced veterinary ophthalmology since, primarily in Corvallis and Eugene/Springfield.
When not working, she can often be found outside gardening or enjoying the beautiful landscapes that Oregon provides.
